The MDF screws are designed for joining MDF boards, chipboard, plywood, melamine, fiberboard and other engineered wood products.

The SPAX CUT tip allows screwing into the material without predrilling, all without splitting or bulging the board or veneer.

MDF Screws 1.25 x 30mm are screws designed specifically for use with Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). These screws are commonly used in woodworking, furniture manufacturing, and cabinetry to securely join MDF pieces without causing the material to split or crack.

Key Features:

  • Size: 1.25mm diameter and 30mm length. The diameter refers to the width of the screw, and the length is the measurement from the tip to the top of the screw’s head.
  • Coating: Often available with a corrosion-resistant coating, such as zinc-plated or black oxide, to prevent rusting and ensure a longer lifespan.
  • Thread Design: Designed with a finer thread that allows for a stronger grip in MDF without damaging the material. The threads help the screw to hold firmly while minimizing the risk of splitting the MDF.
  • Tip: Typically equipped with a sharp, self-tapping tip to easily penetrate the MDF without the need for pre-drilling.

Applications:

  • Furniture Assembly: Commonly used to assemble flat-pack furniture or create custom furniture pieces.
  • Cabinetmaking: Ideal for fastening MDF parts in cabinetry, such as doors, panels, or shelving units.
  • MDF Projects: Used in any project where MDF is involved, whether it’s for wall paneling, decorative features, or structural components.

Installation Tips:

  • Pre-drill Pilot Holes: Even though these screws are self-tapping, pre-drilling a pilot hole can help avoid splitting the MDF, especially for thicker boards.
  • Drive Carefully: Use a drill or screwdriver with adjustable torque to avoid overtightening, which can cause the MDF to crack.
  • Use Proper Length: Ensure the 30mm length is appropriate for the thickness of the MDF and the materials being fastened. Too long a screw could cause the threads to penetrate through the other side of the material.
